Photoessay: Exploring the outskirts of Tokyo with the Ricoh GR III

I spent the weekend familiarizing myself with my new Ricoh GR III. In the end I walked a total of 25 km just in one day, exploring some neighbourhoods in the outskirts of Tokyo while looking for interesting scenes to capture with the camera.

I’m really impressed with the image quality of this little thing, and I think it might very well be the perfect walkaround camera for me, thanks to its minimal size. While I will try to avoid getting too much into the details right now, as I need to save something for the final review, I can say that I am even more impressed with the camera now compared to when I wrote the first impressions post last week. The high-quality night photographs are one important reason for this, as I was really blown away after importing those into lightroom and seeing just the amount of detail captured, as well as the massive dynamic range of the sensor.
