My name is Said Karlsson, and I have spent the better part of my adult life in Tokyo. I began my professional career as a photographer and Japan correspondent for several Swedish newspapers and news agencies. However, a few years ago, I discovered that I thrive most when I get to show "my" Tokyo and share my knowledge with travelers and visitors. I am passionate about sharing my expertise and love for this amazing city, preferably with my camera slung over my shoulder.

When it comes to guided tours, I don't offer pre-packaged routes or itineraries. I believe Tokyo deserves to be experienced through a completely customized tour, based entirely on my clients' interests, personality, and travel style. Some wish to pose in front of the most well-known landmarks, while others prefer strolling down cozy alleys, secret bars, and restaurants with no English menus. My full and half-day packages therefore always include an initial consultation via video call, where we get a chance to know each other better, allowing me to tailor an experience entirely to your preferences.

Quality Assured by the Japanese Ministry of Tourism Over the years, I have had the honor of collaborating multiple times with the Japanese Ministry of Tourism on various projects to promote tourism to Japan. I am also listed by them as one of a handful of foreign experts on tourism to Japan. This cooperation is a testament to my commitment to offering high-quality and authentic experiences to my clients.

Here are some examples of what I can offer:

• Guided Day Tours: Discover Tokyo's iconic landmarks and hidden treasures at your own pace. We can visit everything from the Imperial Palace and Senso-ji Temple to modern art galleries and/or lively market streets.

• Themed Tours: Are you interested in Japanese food, anime, retro gaming, history, or architecture? Or perhaps (just like me) you're a coffee lover who wants to visit some of the best of Tokyo's thousands of cafés? I am happy to create a specially adapted tour based entirely on your specific interests!

• Excursions Outside Tokyo: Do you want to experience more of Japan? I can arrange day trips to nearby cities and attractions, such as the beautiful mountain town of Hakone or the historical city of Kamakura.
